Spa in a jar: The Ritual of Hammam collection

Who doesn't love a cheeky trip to the spa? Personally, I find there's no better way to unwind than to completely switch off (that means surgically removing my phone from my hand) and having some kind of relaxing treatment. Although I love to do this - as I'm sure many of you do too

10 small things that make me happy

I feel like everything has been on-the-go lately, but in a good way! I feel like I'm in a really good place at the minute, and know exactly what I want and where I want to be. I'm in a routine, I'm busy a lot of the time,

Three steps to glowy skin

I've got to the point where I definitely prefer the 'no makeup makeup' look in favour of a heavy coverage, and often opt for anything dewy rather than matte. I like my skin to look like you know.. skin, and I prefer the feeling of less/lighter makeup! With my skin being normal-dry (like I've previously mentioned 100 times) powder products don't always suit me, and I find myself reaching for more liquid and cream based formulas lately, particularly in the summer.

I have three current favourites that I swear by for achieving an effortless, lit from within glow! These products work really well for me and my skin, and I highly recommend each of them.

Mac Strobe Cream in Pinklite

I was on the look out for a new primer that was hydrating and had a slight illuminating effect, when I instead stumbled across this. I haven't tried any new Mac products for a while, but seeing this priced at just £18.00 in the Cheshire Oaks outlet, I thought it was definitely worth a try. I got the pinky shade which I think is the original. I have been using this for well over a week now and am seriously impressed! I apply it as the last step of my daily skincare routine (after moisturiser) and then go on to apply my foundation using a damp beautyblender. This is one of those products that offers instant results. I could immediately see the glow it gave on my skin, and it left it looking and feeling super soft and hydrated. I looove how healthy this makes the surface of my skin look and paired with the right products, it is 100% key in achieving a glowing base. I can't believe I've only just tried this. If you have shiny or oily skin though, I would steer clear of this.

Charlotte Tilbury's Light Wonder Foundation (in shade Fair 2)

I have raved about this before in my original single product review which you can read here - and I still adore this foundation. It's so lightweight that it doesn't feel cakey on your face or like you're even wearing makeup at all. Teamed with the Mac Strobe cream, it performs even better! They really compliment each other and it makes such a difference to the foundation, applying the strobe cream beforehand. This is my go-to combination at the minute and I'm really happy with these products. This foundation has lasted me since January as well, which is pretty good going I'd say! I think I'm going to repurchase this in the next shade up so that I can take it on holidays with me, and wear when I've fake tanned.

Manna Glo Illuminator

I got this product in one of my GlossyBox's a couple of months back, and I like everything about it. It's easy to blend (although the consistency is suprisingly runny so be careful not to squeeze too much out and waste it like I did the first time.. woops) and it looks a dream once applied. You can mix this in with your foundation and apply all over with a stippling brush, but I like to use my Micro Mini beautyblender which is the perfect size for applying the product to the tip of my nose, cheekbones and cupids bow. I recently got this from which is a new makeup website, it's the first time I've used a downsized beautyblender and it comes in so handy for highlighting!

Anyway, back to the illuminator - the pale pink tone suits my fair skin and is really subtle but effective, if I want an extra glowing look Ill apply this first then use Mac's Soft and Gentle hightlighter on top, it sits really well on top of the liquid and blends with it beautifully. Although I got this in my GlossyBox, you can purchase it here.

Last but not least, I always ensure I set my makeup and try to refresh it throughout the day to regain moisture. At the minute I always carry the Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist in my handbag, not only does it allow my makeup to last that little bit longer, it also gives a little moisture boost, completing my look.

What are your favourite products for creating a glowy base?

Being a lover of beauty has it's fair share of downsides, the main negative being the cost of constantly stocking up on your favourite/essential items.

Fresh Start

'And suddenly, you know it's time to start something new, and trust the magic of beginnings.'
After having the busiest year, I think I've ever had, with some lows but some of the best highs, it's safe to say I lost track of writing a little a lot.
